This group from London is writing a book about a movie called "Driving Alone at Night." It's 1999, and an entity is trying to stop them and take over the world while also messing with Helen's mind.

Helen Marsh: The producer of the movie "Driving Alone at Night." Helen takes things seriously and dreams of making the best movie in London. She also dreams of finding someone who cares about her and respects her talent and the movie she is writing.
Evelyn Parker: Evelyn is a kind-hearted person who helps Helen and Andrew with their paperwork. She loves making funny jokes with her friends and enjoys old Hollywood movies. Evelyn is always there to assist Helen with her scripts.
Andrew Hutton: Andrew is easily scared by many people around him.
Gabriel Winstor: Gabriel is straight but is secretly in love with Helen Marsh.
Alice Roger: Alice is the one behind the entity and the one messing with Helen's mind.

In London, August 1999, a company called Scripts of Producers operates a building named Wester Company. The employees include Helen Marsh, Evelyn Parker, Andrew Hutton, Charles Marshall, Gabriel Winstor, Alice Roger, Thomas Bing, Boris Wilbert, Susie Tiller, Sammy O'Brien, Larry Trills, Angela Hutton, and Peter Wilbert.
They are working on a movie called "Driving Alone at Night" and have been feeling stressed while working on it for weeks since they started writing it. One day, the boss, Larry, hired a new employee named Gabriel Winstor. Everyone was happy to meet him, although Gabriel already knew Helen from when they were young.
Gabriel has a crush on Helen, but she is currently in a relationship with Henry Lawrence. However, Gabriel discovers that Henry cheated on Helen. After 20 years of not seeing each other, Gabriel approaches Helen and introduces himself. Evelyn becomes upset and teary-eyed, but Helen reassures her that Gabriel is just a friend. Despite this, Evelyn remains bothered by their connection.
Meanwhile, Helen feels like she is being watched or that something is messing with her mind. She considers it a possible prank but isn't entirely sure. She records a tape in her office titled "The Start of Working: 8/5/99," mentioning her encounter with Gabriel and addressing Evelyn's concerns. Helen mentions that they are starting a new movie called "Driving Alone at Night." However, she remains suspicious of the strange occurrences.
